The New Smartphone Case Is Also A DroneJanuary 12, 2018
Do you remember using selfie sticks to get that perfect angle shot of you and your friends? Well, the hassle of carrying a bulky stick around with you is officially over. Your new smartphone case can now turn into a drone and do all the work for you!
AEE Aviation Technology’s Selfly is a phone case with a built-in autonomous flying selfie camera. The Selfly lives on your phone so it’s with you at all times whenever you want to capture special moments.
How does it work? Detach the Selfly drone from the phone case. It will automatically hover autonomously and take pictures and videos for you. The mini drone can also detect faces and emotions, as well as shoot in panoramic mode.
According to the press release, “Its drone wings enable the device to fly itself at the user’s command, delivering distant, tight angle or higher altitude photo selfies or videos. As it hovers in the air, Selfly waits for commands from an intuitive, easy-to-use and free smartphone app to capture that perfect shot from above.”
The drone snaps onto most standard 4-6 inch smartphones and is equipped with 1080p, full high-definition video capability. Each Selfly also has a flight time of four minutes with a recharge time of 30 minutes.
The drone, which currently has a suggested retail price of $130, is expected to start shipping in the first quarter of 2018.
