People are calling it the greatest Super Bowl of all time and it’s no surprise that drones helped it achieve that title. Normally they are the ones capturing something, but on Sunday night Intel flipped the script and made the drones the subject of the spectacle. They call them their “shooting star” squad, and for good reason. These 300+ drones that can be controlled and program ahead of time flew into the night’s sky and created an image of the American Flag during Lady Gaga’s opening scene.
Each drone is equipped with a LED that can produce four billion colour combinations and has a wingspan of 12 inches.
If you’re wondering how they got approval to fly 300 drones at night above a populated stadium, well it turns out they didn’t. That part of the show was taped on a different night before the Super Bowl. Still very impressive considering something like this was not possible a year ago. Showing once again how fast this industry is moving which Defiant Labs is excited to demonstrate in this upcoming year!
