Long gone are the days of traditional surveying. Engineering firms need no longer hire costly, labour and time intensive surveying teams to gather data used for infrastructure and site plans. The Sky Guys have been working hard applying their expertise in aerial drone mapping and 3D modeling to provide the most advanced and cutting edge GIS solutions to their clients.
The Sky Guys were approached by a national, multidisciplinary engineering firm to conduct a survey for the structural evaluation, condition assessment and asset management plan for an infrastructure rehabilitation project in northern Ontario.
The Scope of Work (SOW) required;
- Preparation of engineering base drawings.
- Preparation of an Asset Management Plan, in accordance with the scope under the RFP.
A conditional assessment was required to obtain the necessary information to produce engineering base drawings. From the survey-grade base drawings, our client would be able to accurately prepare an asset management plan for the refurbishment and maintenance of the dam.
The raw site data required to fulfill the requirements set forth in the RFP is entirely captured in a single UAV flight.
