In what seems to be the shortest lifespan of any DJI product to date, the company has announced they are terminating the production of their iconic Phantom 4 after only 10 months on the market. The announcement was made just earlier this week when dealers received the below letter.
This message comes shortly after the announcement that they are terminating production of most of their Phantom 3 line. While this doesn’t necessarily mean these models will be off the market entirely, as current stock will likely supply customers for some time, it is a definite indication of the fast-moving pace of the industry and the necessity of continuous improvements and innovation. While DJI will continue to focus on their Mavic, Inspire 2, and Phantom 4 Pro we are curious to see how long production of these lines continues for and what new products the company will have in store for 2017.
