Nicole is the founder of OMX (Offset Market Exchange) and a Dragon on CBC’s Next Gen Den. Prior to founding OMX, Nicole launched Tiburon in 2008, an offshore manufacturing business in the Dominican Republic, which sold shelter components to government contractors. In response to Haiti’s devastating earthquake, Nicole reacted by founding the non-profit organization GlassFrog to provide aid.

Nicole graduated from the Richard Ivey School of Business with a specialization in International Political Science and Entrepreneurship, is on the Board of the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC), a member of the Munk School of Global Affairs Advisory Board and the official technology columnist for Vanguard magazine.

Nicole is also an active member of the CSCA (Canadian Space Commerce Association), CADSI (Canadian Aerospace, Defence, Security Industry Association), Aerospace Industries Association Canada (AIAC) and Global Offset and Countertrade Association (GOCA).

Dan is Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Canada’s leading travel tech company, Softvoyage. He joined softvoyage in 2001 as a Partner and member of the Board Directors. Having been raised by parents in the Travel Business, Dan has been in the industry since the age of 12.

His experience touches many aspects of the Travel Business with various positions such as Sales Manager for Canadian Airlines, President of Contiki Holidays Canada, Executive Director of GIANTS Canada and as President and Owner of GolfPlus Vacations, which was sold in 2001.

He holds a Marketing Degree from Canadore College and a Bachelor of Commerce from Ottawa University.

With a strong focus on disruptive thinkers in the start-up field, Sara helps clients gain public profile, open doors and move from concept to content leaders in their industry. Her specialties range from corporate communications strategy, government relations, and social media campaigns to copy writing.

Aside from being a Stephen Harper’s Press Secretary for three years, including the 2011 majority campaign win, Sara was the Director of Communications, Public Affairs and Stakeholder Relations at an offshore wind energy company dealing with Aboriginal, energy and environmental groups, and is a frequent commentator in the Toronto Sun, NewsTalk 1010, and CP24.

Sara runs her own communications consulting company, Elbows Up Communications. She helps guide The Sky Guys’ press strategy, and pushes to gain a media presence for the company.

Peter Jalkotzy

Peter is a certified environmental manager and registered environmental professional of 35+yrs with a focus on management of regulatory and environmental assessment processes. Peter is technically trained in wildlife biology and environmental law. His focus has been the oil/gas, mining and energy sectors, including conventional and non-conventional resource plays in urban, rural, and remote frontier regions.  He has significant exposure to the international arena (Russia, China, SE Asia, Tanzania, Venezuela, Colombia, Chile, Bolivia, and Belize) in addition to Canada. Most recently, he has been active as a leader, strategist, and mentor in the areas of regulatory and environmental assessment process strategy, development, management and navigation.

Peter’s interest in robotic, autonomous and remote data collection was sparked more than a decade ago.  He is very active in communicating and supporting the adoption of these new technologies across the infrastructure engineering, design and construction business.  Peter has hosted a global monthly UAS/UAV conference call on behalf of the Unmanned Systems practice for AECOM for over two years. Meanwhile, Peter continues to explore and research new developments in sensors, platforms, propulsion, and data storage and management to identify opportunities for the direct application of these emerging technologies to current and future projects.
